Humane means showing benevolence and compassion. Over 80 billion land animals are killed every year for food products. Virtually all of them are subjected to horrific cruelty - much of which is legal, under current law.
Humane washing is a marketing scam to mislead consumers into believing animal products come from humanely treated animals, when exploitation and slaughter can never be humane.
